Want a Great Soap Recap?

Published by ynrblogger under Uncategorized Edit This

If you missed an episode or just don’t have the time to watch your favorite soap, check out www.Soapcentral.com.  I’ve looked everywhere and have yet to find a free service that provides in-depth recaps like they do at Soapcentral.com.

They also have a Daily Recaps Archive that is well more than comprehensive.  Their Recaps Archive for The Young and the Restless goes as far back as November 1996.

If you just took a day job, or your home life gets a little hectic during the day, you can also sign up for Soapcentral.com’s weekly newsletter.  You’ll get a complete rundown of everything you missed during the week.

Lauren has Really Grown Up

Published by ynrblogger under Uncategorized Edit This

While I was watching this week, I couldn’t help but marvel at how well Lauren Fenmore Baldwin has grown up.  I remember back in the day when she was involved in a teen, summer storyline where there was a love triangle between her, Cricket and Paul.  In high school, Lauren was a raging witch to Tracy Abbot as well.
The scene at Katherine’s funeral where Lauren finally apologized for being so evil toward Tracy in high school was not only touching but it also showed considerable growth of her character.
Showing us the depth of her relationship with her husband, Michael, also impresses upon us that the naughty rich girl has finally grown up and got her head on straight.
I love it!

Pushing the National Produce Program

Published by ynrblogger under Uncategorized Edit This

Every once in a while, a soap will bring attention to a worthy cause and give it airtime in the form of a small bit of storyline and then a short 30-second public service announcement during airtime.
I have to hand it to the folks at The Young and the Restless.  They are really pushing the National Produce Program by having several different characters explain it as well as giving the poster/logo some visual airtime.
The National Produce Program serves a very important function in securing and distributing fresh produce throughout the Feeding America network of more than 200 food banks.  While food banks that supply non-perishable items serve a necessary need by providing food for the hungry, providing fresh produce supplies quality nutrition.
For more information on this program, go to their website at

Christmas Decorations on the Set of The Young and the Restless

Published by ynrblogger under Uncategorized Edit This

Daniel & Amber’s Apartment
Silver and pink.  Not exactly what I would choose, but somehow it fits Amber to a t.

The Chancellor Mansion
Silver and gold.  At least Jill had the good sense to hire a good decorator.  Of course, she can afford the best, can’t she?  The mansion is done up in very tasteful greenery with silver and gold ribbons and ornaments.  Love it!

The Abbot Mansion
Neon green?  Sharon is getting ripped off by her interior decorator!  She clearly has no taste whatsoever and her decorator is taking criminal advantage of it.  The neon green monster that threw up in the living room of the Abbott mansion should be shot.

Billy and Lily

Published by ynrblogger under Uncategorized Edit This

I really was anxious to see how that texting thing turned out.  Yes, Billy was a bit underhanded in his tactics but why should we begrudge such a young, handsome guy a little romance?  As far as he knows, Cane and Chloe are suited for each other and Lily is open game.  Sure, the secret he is keeping is keeping Lily and Cane apart but who knows, maybe things could work out this way.

Regardless of all the backstory and secrets, I have to hand it to the writers.  The scene with Lily waiting outside the bookstore for Billy and then telling him she wished it was him just sent romantic shivers up my spine.  Well done!  We haven’t seen a good romantic storyline in a while.

I like it!  What do you think?

Lily Finally Got Some Stones - Bad Timing

Published by ynrblogger under Uncategorized Edit This

While I was pretty happy about Lily finally having the nerve to tell Chloe what she thinks of her, I have to admit her timing sucked.  Chloe’s accident only served to draw Cane away from Lily and push him even harder toward Chloe.  Yes, yes, we’re all certain that Cane and Lily will eventually end up together, but this incident caused that “black moment” that we all dread.
Will Can try so hard to love Chloe that they eventually grow intimate?  Not likely with Chloe on bed rest and certainly not possible until six weeks after the baby’s birth but anyone who has been watching soaps for any period of time knows that Cane will eventually give in and consummate the marriage - right before the news comes out that he isn’t the baby daddy.

“Shame has never really been your thing though, Jack.”

Published by ynrblogger under Uncategorized Edit This

Ashley hit the nail in the head when she said this to her brother, Jack.  Anybody who knows Jack knows a few things that blow his sex addict story out of the water.
1. Jack never had any trouble pulling tail.  He’s had well more than his share of women and, dirtbag though he may be, still has the charisma that hooks them.
2. His wife, Sharon, while not the brightest bulb on the tree, is a pretty hot number and happy to oblige.
3. (This is the clincher) Jack Abbot has done millions of things in his life to be ashamed of.  I mean, he’s done some terrible, terrible things!  Yet, he never once claimed to be ashamed of what he had done.  Now he’s ashamed for having a so-called addiction?  Give me a break.

Adam Has $2 Million and a Public Defender

Published by ynrblogger under Uncategorized Edit This

While I can’t begrudge this Torres fellow a few more lines in daytime’s most popular show, I do have to wonder why Adam Wilson is sitting on a $2 million nest egg and opting for a public defender.

Is he that cheap or is he just saving the money for when that magazine asks for their money back?

Even if he is saving his nickels and dimes, that magazine will want more than their fee when they sue him.  In addition to that, Victor will no doubt go after both Adam and Jack in the slander suit of the century.

Yeah, maybe it is a good idea for Adam to save his money and go with the public defender.

One More Fire…

Published by ynrblogger under Uncategorized Edit This

Michael Baldwin is good but he isn’t Superman!

His father committed a crime and needs to go to jail.

His mother committed a crime and needs to go free.

He, his brother and their wives are accessories and could do time if she gets convicted.

Victor didn’t commit a crime and needs to go free.

Michael needs to find a way to get Adam and Jack nailed for setting Victor up.

Really now, how much can one man do in a day?

I have to say the writers are really pushing the character of Michael and I am truly enjoying seeing him rise to every occasion.

What Will The Baldwins Do?

Published by ynrblogger under Uncategorized Edit This

Gloria has been arrested.  Her confession is on tape.  The way that the police got the confession could be questionable but for all intents and purposes, this looks like an open and shut case.

The big problem now is the fact that her sons and their wives are all aware of the tainted face cream and the death that was caused by it and never came forward with the information.

How will Michael apply the rules he just held his father to, and called him on, when it comes to himself?

Will Michael confess to knowledge of the crime?

Will he be disbarred?

Will he go to jail?

Will the whole family go to jail?

If they do, who will take care of Fen and Eden?
